Ellen D. Williams is an actor, writer, and director who was born and raised in Santa Monica, Ca. Ellen knew she wanted to be an actor from a very young age when she would watch such shows as the Carol Burnett Show and The Donny and Marie Osmond Show. She also loved Dance Fever and The Brady Bunch. She loves 80's sitcoms and theme songs.

Ellen holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach. After college she lived in Seattle for short while where she traveled around the Northwest with the Growth and Prevention (GAP) Theatre Company. She returned to Los Angeles shortly after that and began working for Walt Disney Animation while running a theatre company with two friends.

Years later Ellen would be cast in the 2008 ABC Diversity Showcase (now the Disney Discovers Talent Showcase) and would continue a relationship with ABC Casting by becoming the only talent to also become a director for the showcase. She was a director for the showcase on and off for 12 years.

Ellen's theatre career has included working with Cameron Mackintosh, traveling to the Philippines, workshopping a plethora of new works at The Ojai Playwrights Conference, the Ashland New Plays Festival and the Geffen Playhouse to name a few. She has even garnered a few best actress nominations from non-family members.

Ellen's TV career started when she was cast as recurring character and fan favorite "Patrice" on CBS' How I Met Your Mother. A part that was supposed to be a one line co-star turned into 3 season and 12 episodes with a now famous catchphrase from the show. She would later play opposite Zach Galifianakis as his wife "Nicole" in BASKETS on FX. She has also been seen in such shows as Barry, Superstore, Life in Pieces, The Mindy Project, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Criminal Minds, I'm Sorry, and You're the Worst to name a few.

Ellen is currently seeking literary representation so she can start telling her own stories on screen. She has written two pilots that tell of her bi-racial experience growing up Filipino/American.

Ellen is a proud member of both SAG/Aftra and Actors Equity. She currently splits her time between Los Angeles and Portland, OR.
